Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The most effective way to upgrade your gear in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This lets you improve it without having to depend on costly drops or trades. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrading equipment grants a bonus to the item's base stats. This bonus scales according to the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your armour and weapons stronger. You can locate them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment with them or by using a high-tier salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

The main function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other functions. They can be used to increase the level of experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can be made for additional bonuses. For example, a crafted glyph will boost the chance of upgrading its target, whereas an upgrade boost will increase the attack or defense quality of a weapon or armor.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item will gain when upgraded with that component. Organic components, for example, have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next rank of weapon or gear, and then change to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the experience multiplier, each item also has a maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the kind of upgrade they can receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items that all share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade will increase its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade the set piece or weapon is that it will be given an increase of +1 to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are boosted even further (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an Best item upgrader is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which may be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a higher defense base than their base. It is a good method to increase the value of some set and unique items, however it is important to keep in mind that they might not be superior to a high-level runeword in any build.

If you're upgrading an item that has bonuses it can be rerolled a single time and the guarantee will reset to 0. The same power die is used to reroll an item as it would be used to upgrade it. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will need the appropriate amount Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each type. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also give a special reward for every tier that is completed of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and will be made using the same materials as the first item.

Rerolling

If the player has enough rerolling tokens, they can reroll any item that they've acquired during the game. When an upgraded item is to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the shop for a small sum of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The new item will offer the same extra bonuses as the original, but the statistics will also differ.

Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, all the while keeping its basic stats and attributes that are required. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the equipment.

Players can also increase the level of their Item upgrader mod on any equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the item's upgrader NPC. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, the item upgrader type, and the number of crests. In the case of weapons, each upgrade will add an additional 5percent to the damage.

Upgrades can boost the power of an item, but they also can decrease the quality of an item. Therefore, it is crucial to strike a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while others require upgrades to maximize their potential. A player may want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% block chance or FHR) to explore what else it can become.

Rerolling is a common practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People use it to gain access to the character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise have. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only other options are to spend money or grind extensively. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item, you can choose to upgrade the weapon or armor. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe that this feature was intended to add some value to expensive and rare items. However, as most items are replaced quite quickly, and it can only be leveled up one level, you'll typically replace it before it gets too old. It's also not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets since the value of the gem will far outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

When you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will get a small screen with the upgrade template for the item and the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the Best item upgrade level. The cost will differ between armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that can be added to an upgraded item along with its current ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also decreased by the upgrade templates reduction percentage of lvl. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.

The item will receive upgrades to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base level. The increases are also based on the upgrade template.

The amount of defense and damage the item will receive when leveled up can be observed below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons apart from practice equipment get these stats when they level up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled version of a piece of armor or weapon is able to command more trade value than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces, like tiaras and circlets.
