WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the Item level Upgrade level by +3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require several methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same Best item upgrade level will cost less, even when they belong to another set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available after certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item upgrades that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
