World of Warcraft - item level upgrade Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons don't change much post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also change the stats of the base. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.

Armor items can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. This can boost the defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrade menu with the circling arrows. This will reroll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you can get from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade item your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game, and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and completed the corresponding fountain, you can then talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid conditions with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with your comrades.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to concentrate on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

You can also get some benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to let you escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item upgrader's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. For example splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display). The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the potion and refills the bottle.

In addition, there are simmering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similar to lingering potions, the can be enhanced by adding redstone. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but isn't essential as a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to express friendship or affection between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be swapped out at will without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. One can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are an attractive alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that will not replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying new ones.
