10 Things That Your Family Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its stats improve in value. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you do. This is because of how many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the level of an item. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's capable of causing. Comparing items in a vendor's stock is possible using the item's level.
The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item upgrade using the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are various theories about how the item level calculation is made. One theory suggests that the item level is calculated using formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats really are. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real item level.
This isn't the only thing that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item upgrader was dropped can alter its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Item stats are a big element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.
Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.
Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes are used to give items extra damage, special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.
Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods.
Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat or reroll attaches. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an exclusive item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, this would have to be done per item, and the Best item upgrade comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of the properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the chance to acquire better equipment earlier in the game and is thus more useful in the early game than later ones since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it fails.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.
The luck of an item can influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases that chance by 5percent.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
