WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item level upgrade (hougaard-lykke-2.mdwrite.net) owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show the Best item upgrader's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item upgrader mod slot and the current level of the item upgrader mod and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade items coupon as well as the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less even when they are part of a different gear set.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
