World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats increase in value. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it's able to deal. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done using the item's level.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its level. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a few theories on how the calculation of the item's level is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula which calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This can lead to an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn boosted by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items additional damage, special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can upgrade an item by specific stats, or reroll the affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat in the same range, unless it's an exclusive item or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to boost. Similar to the base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be bought at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

item upgrader mod Failure

Upgrades to items can be expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (source web page) CORE client config.
