Item Upgrades Explained In Fewer Than 140 Characters
Path of Exile item upgrader mod Upgrades
The performance of many Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading their performance. They can be a good source of damage and more AD or even more attachments.
Rare-grade equipment is often superior to upgraded Common or Magic gear due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the effectiveness of the item upgrading they are connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kit to retrieve upgrade components from other items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to take on. The ability to absorb damage of an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the highest upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.
There are several types of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have different effects. For instance, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item upgrade can receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade as illustrated in the table below.
A few upgrades also feature magical or a combination of technology and magic which is identified by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges to use, which is identified by a "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in performance and are worth the investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.
A piece of armor upgraded to its maximum upgrade level will dramatically boost its defense but the wearer must be aware that putting on weight will drastically reduce its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The defensive boost gained generally isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells do. Some weapons have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic qualities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces the risk of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed for greater damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades to weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. These can be obtained by doing side quests, or taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars you will need to complete the upgrade. The cost of upgrades will be less if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your equipment and weapon sets changed a little. In the past you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher quality. You could continue to do this until you reach a maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, following which the upgrades would reset.
This is still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off visiting stores and buying gear that has low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. They will also have a chance at gaining you the highest tier perks and blessings.
To level up faster, many players be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. In addition to these players, they should think about upgrading the weapons they use with their squadmates to make them more powerful and effective. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are used in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing a stat and providing secondary effects. They can be created through an process known as jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem with a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the grade of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or by salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a diamond can be improved by the Jeweler, with stages that range from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel it can provide different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.
All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain these. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without destroying the original. However it is only possible to replace the jewels in an item of equipment only once.
It is normal to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. The jewels can also enhance performance and create a harder surface than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to them.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the look of your shields and weapons. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped out at any time however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis can't be exchanged, and can only be retrieved through an upgrade extractor or salvaging with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are pieces of equipment that offer many tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. They are available in the start-up area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors and by completing road interaction. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket a player unlocks will be the cloak, which gives a small, but valuable boost to speed of movement and evasion. After that, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player obtains armor and weapons. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective when not active, and can also help fill in the void of a strong team or any slots from the talent tree that normally are filled with the hero's Best item upgrade stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item upgrader kit has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually more beneficial to upgrade one important stat than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand, will choose a green or a pink ward, based on the matchup. These choices can impact the hero's ability to manage the map.
Aside from the items mentioned above, players can discover a variety of other items in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story, such as completing a chapter's main quest or killing a particular boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
