World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item upgrader Mod Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of its leveled up advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average level of an item is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can evaluate the levels of the item. It's a sign of the item's condition and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done by using the Best item upgrade's level.

On your PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the item level calculation is done. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats really are. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is usually very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

This isn't the only factor that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can change its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could be used to give the item extra damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.

At present, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with the arrows that circle. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

Players can upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll attaches. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat within the range, unless they are an exclusive item or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to roll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. Similar to the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives the player a chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in the initial game run than in later ones, as most players prioritize more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted by using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) for a further +40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it does not work.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an item can be affected by the luck of that item. All items have a success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
